The Covid-19 Public Inquiry has been set up to examine the UK's response to and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and learn lessons for the future. The Inquiry has been in session since July 2022 and will continue to the end of this year.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/055/25, 7th February 2025), I advised the Company of the dispute situation due to the disparity which currently exists between members in former Tubelines areas, who receive a higher rate of pay to provide protection on track or to act as site person in change compared to ex-Metronet members.

Ballot papers were posted to all LUL Track, Signals and Systems members on Monday 3rd March and the ballot closes on Tuesday 25th March 2025

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2025 - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0001)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/026/25, 22nd January 2025), the Lead Officer has met with our Level 2 IR Reps and Branch Officers and reports a consensus to include the following in our pay claim.

Transport union RMT, today confirmed that Eddie Dempsey has been elected unopposed as the union’s new General Secretary.

He previously served as RMT’s Senior Assistant General Secretary,  and will take over from Mick Lynch tomorrow (Friday 7 March.)

Mr Dempsey has been a leading figure in the union’s campaigns for fair pay, job security, and better conditions for transport and maritime workers.

He has pledged to continue RMT’s tradition of industrial strength and tough negotiation to protect members’ interests.
