4-DAY WORKING WEEK, TRAIN OPERATORS - LONDON UNDERGROUND
Transport union RMT, today confirmed that Eddie Dempsey has been elected unopposed as the union’s new General Secretary.
He previously served as RMT’s Senior Assistant General Secretary, and will take over from Mick Lynch tomorrow (Friday 7 March.)
Mr Dempsey has been a leading figure in the union’s campaigns for fair pay, job security, and better conditions for transport and maritime workers.
He has pledged to continue RMT’s tradition of industrial strength and tough negotiation to protect members’ interests.

Like most things, the cost of providing you with the benefits of RMT membership increases every year and, in most cases, will result in an increase to your contributions to help us maintain and improve those benefits and our services to members.
Noting the high rate of RPI inflation in recent years, general increases in the cost of living and the fact that many of our members had been subject to employer and government imposed pay freezes, your Union implemented the following measures to assist our members:
