RMT demands minimum £15 an hour for Sodexo members on TfL
Dear All,
RMT - Sodexo Latest Bulletin
RMT has recently submitted a pay claim to Sodexo, which holds the outsourced catering contract for TfL.
The main elements in the claim are:
- A minimum wage of £15/hour for all staff
- A specific increase for supervisory grade staff to reflect their additional responsibilities
- An increasing in the staffing level to minimise lone working
RMT representatives for LU fleet and trains members can help build the union on the catering contract by:
- Speaking to all canteen workers about joining the RMT. Ask your branch membership secretary for a list of RMT members in the canteen at your depot.
- Letting canteen workers know the union has submitted a pay claim. Copies of the claim can be sent on request.
- Encouraging canteen workers to attend your branch meetings.
- Identifying any canteen worker interested in becoming an RMT representative.
While we are building up the representative cohort on the catering contract, please give your contact details to canteen workers as a union point-of-contact for your depot if they do not already have them.
If you have any questions or further information, then please get in touch with me.
In solidarity,
Jared Wood
