RMT remains resolute in defending Call Point Technicians

REMOVAL OF FRONT-LINE CALL POINT TECHNICIANS - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/5)

I wrote to LUL last month to demand an urgent dispute resolution meeting over its proposals to remove front-line call point staff (see Circular No: IR/097/25, 12th March 2025) and the London Transport Regional Council has now submitted the following resolution:

"This branch notes London Underground's plans to slash call point technician provision.

This branch recognises the vital role they play in keeping the system safe and supporting train operators.

We call on the NEC to instruct the General Secretary to write to TfL and the Mayor demanding that these plans are scrapped and that the underground is fully funded and resourced."

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which notes that talks with the Company are ongoing. The Union remains resolute in defending our Call Point Technicians. The role they play in keeping our railway safe for all is vital and must be recognised by the Company.
