Defending Jobs, Pensions and Agreements dispute update
strike flag

Dear RMT Member,

DEFENDING JOBS, PENSIONS & AGREEMENTS - LONDON UNDERGROUND

All RMT members are congratulated for supporting the action which has been continuous throughout this dispute to refuse to familiarise staff who do not usually work at a location, not to train staff for roles that are outside of their normal substantive role and not to undertake training that is outside of your normal substantive role.

A momentous victory was won earlier this year when TfL abandoned its attacks on your pensions and confirmed there are no plans to change the pension scheme and that the pension review management team had been disbanded.

The Union will of course continue to ensure that all members jobs, pensions, agreements and terms and conditions are protected and improved upon and I will continue to update you with all further developments

. The National Executive Committee (NEC) will be considering our next steps in our defence of jobs and agreements, which could include a new ballot for industrial action. In the meantime, the previous ballot mandate has now expired (6 months after the ballot closed, as specified in the anti-trade union laws) and all members are therefore instructed to book on for shifts and work as normal.

Yours sincerely,

Eddie Dempsey
General Secretary
