Waterloo & City Line Service Control Staff to Strike for Pay Uplift

Re-Grading Of Waterloo & City Line Service Control Staff, London Underground

Dear Colleagues,

Further to my letter of 25th November 2014, as you know members voted overwhelmingly in support of strike action. Whilst discussions with London Underground are still continuing no agreement has been reached on your claim for re-grading to recognise the hard work you undertake.

The General Grades Committee has, therefore, called the following strike action:-

All members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

Invitation to Central Line East branch AGM

Whatever your grade or work location, there is a very good reason for you to come to your RMT branch's AGM next Thursday (11 December, 17:00-19:15, ex Services club, Harvey Road, Leytonstone)

  • London Underground has announced its schedule for ticket office closures, and the majority of the first tranche of closures are on the Central Line (details here)

Strike Ballot For Waterloo & City Line

RE-GRADING OF WATERLOO & CITY LINE SERVICE CONTROL STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/2/2)

Further to my previous Circular No. IR/292/14, 31st October 2014, the General Grades Committee considered this matter and took the decision to escalate this dispute by conducting a ballot for strike action in pursuit of pay justice for these members. I can now advise that the ballot papers will be posted to affected members on Tuesday 11th November and the closing date for this ballot is Tuesday 25th November 2014. I will keep you informed of all further developments.

Bosses Offer To Waterloo & City Line Controllers Falls Short of Member's Aspirations

RE-GRADING OF WATERLOO & CITY LINE SERVICE CONTROL STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/2/2)

The Union has been in talks with the Company at ACAS over the on-going dispute where Waterloo & City Line Service Control Staff have been taking industrial action short of strike action to demand re-grading (Circular No. IR/89/14, 25th March 2014). As a result of these discussions, the proposed resolution which has now been received from management is as follows:-

  1. A firm commitment to reassess the weight and value placed on this role should material changes be made to the role performed.

Service Control ACAS Update

Today, your functional representatives attended ACAS, unfortunately despite the many options offered by the RMT London Underground management didn't budge.

We have stated many times that we can only discuss future plans for London Underground when they agree to stop implementing the changes without proper negotiations and discussions.

So far we haven't been able to see eye to eye. We remain hopeful and will attend tomorrow, however we are still unable to call the action off due to management’s reluctance to put a hold to the cuts and enter into meaningful negotiations.
