Resolutions Carried At London Transport Regional Meeting October 2012

These resolutions were passed at the October London Transport Regional Council Meeting.

Right to elect workplace representatives - Jubilee South Branch
This branch is disgusted with the attacks being made by management and the devious methods they are using to try not to recognise our rep for Stratford/North Greenwich depots.
Jason Moriarty, elected for this position by members of the branch, has refused to be recognised by LUL, despite him previously being the rep, and having had full recognition.

RMT To Ballot For Action Over Driverless Tube

“RMT reiterates this union's complete opposition to driverless trains. Every train must have a driver, to ensure the safe and effective running of the Underground." - Bob Crow

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that it is to ballot for strike action and action short of a strike in a dispute over plans to rip up the safety rule book and begin the testing of driverless trains on London Underground.

Initially, RMT will be balloting all members who are test train drivers but the union has also made it clear that it will be looking at which other grades may be called upon to test-drive units with a view to balloting those staff as well.

Emcor Rail Workers At LU To Be Balloted For Industrial Action As Employer Refuses Olympic Payment

We note the report from our Regional Organiser, and are appalled that Emcor Rail have refused to make any financial offer to our members for Olympics working.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to immediately conduct a ballot for strikes and action short of strikes, notice to be given today, the ballot to commence on 18 July and close on 27 July, ballot papers to be sent first class, and a personal letter to be sent to all members involved urging them to vote Yes to both questions.
