TUBE UNION RMT today warned of a thousand cleaning job losses on London Underground and announced that it will be lobbying Parliament on the 29th of January in support of decent jobs, on decent pay and conditions provided in house and with the cuts axe lifted from above the heads of the cleaning workforce.
In 2017 London Underground again outsourced Tube cleaning; this time on a five year contract to Global Corporation ABM.

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that it has suspended strike action over a sacked driver on the Central Line – due to start tomorrow evening – after the company waited ten months and left it right up to the wire before submitting important new evidence into the talks process. The company's brinkmanship means that the line has suffered ten months of disruption and discontent as a result of their mismanagement of a highly sensitive case.
Following an overwhelming YES vote for action by RMT Bakerloo South Group members over the Company’s failure to ensure sufficient shift coverage in line with previous commitments given the union has confirmed a programme of industrial action, warning that LU’s current position creates undue stress on staff and puts all members and the travelling public at increased risk.
RMT to take further strike action on Central Line over breakdown in industrial relations
Tube union RMT today announced further strike action on London Underground’s Central Line on Friday 21st December and Saturday 22nd December 2018. The action is over a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations, a failure to employ enough drivers, a wholesale abuse of agreed procedures and the victimisation of a trade union member.
It follows on from 24 hours action earlier this month which shut down the service completely.

RMT confirms ACAS talks this morning in Piccadilly Line drivers dispute
Tube union RMT confirmed today that it will be attending talks at ACAS this morning in the long-running dispute on the Piccadilly Line over the breakdown of industrial relations and a comprehensive failure by management to deliver on promised improvements following previous rounds of industrial action.
Strike action scheduled to start at lunchtime Wednesday and running on a phased basis through to Saturday remains on.

TUBE UNION RMT today reacted with astonishment after revelations that the British Transport Police (BTP) have been carrying out covert spying operations on London Underground (LUL) front line staff.
Even more astonishing is the revelations that these BTP officers engaged in fare evasion including double gating and other acts of anti-social behaviour to “gauge staff reaction”. Double gating is where a fare-dodger slips through the gate behind a fare-payer. All this was done in real time, live, when the station – Piccadilly Circus – was fully open to the public .
