RMT to begin ballot for action on Docklands Light Railway

RAIL UNION RMT confirmed today that it will begin balloting nearly 700 staff across all grades on Keolis Amey Docklands Light Railway for both strike action and action short of a strike in a dispute over a range of serious unresolved issues that are wrecking industrial relations.

The ballot will open later this week and will close on the 22nd October.

The key issues at the heart of the dispute are:

RMT calls on TfL to implement measures to tighten controls on Uber

TAXI UNION RMT has called on Transport for London to implement measures set out in response to a consultation on Private Hire Vehicles which would tighten controls on apps like Uber and help protect the future of the licensed taxi trade in the Capital and the safety of the travelling public.

Transport for London has today outlined the measures which it could take to limit the operation of smartphone apps (such as Uber) in the immediate hire market.

The Private Hire Regulations Review, which closed on 19 June, received over 4,000 responses.

RMT on Waterloo and City Line strike action:
General Secretary Mick Cash said; "Our members from service control on the Waterloo and City Line are 100% united and solid in their action today as they fight for pay and grading justice. Night tube deferred - doesn't mean our pay rise should be!

LU have suggested that they will not impose NT,but seek to come to an agreement with the RMT and other TUs.
This is obviously more preferable than having NT imposed and It comes with some obvious questions - not least being where's our pay increase?

We are patiently waiting for LUL to make us a decent offer.
But our patience is limited.
