Docklands Light Railway

RAIL UNION RMT said today that staff across all grades on Keolis Amey Docklands Light Railway will strike for 48 hours next week  in a dispute over a range of serious unresolved issues that are wrecking industrial relations.
 
The announcement of action comes after talks failed to make any serious progress following the confirmation of a massive 92% vote to strike by RMT members last week.
 

RAIL UNION RMT confirmed today that over 300 staff across all grades on Keolis Amey Docklands Light Railway have voted by massive majorities for both strike action and action short of a strike in a dispute over a range of serious unresolved issues that are wrecking industrial relations.

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS CONTRACT) (DLR/0001/I(KAD))

Further to my previous Circular (IR/181/15, 31st July 2015), RMT members working for Interserve (KAD) took part in a third round of strike action in respect of the above dispute and the Branch Secretary and RMT Rep recently met the new management to discuss the issues in this long-running dispute. They were promised a response from the Company but to date, there has still been no response received.

RAIL UNION RMT confirmed today that it will begin balloting nearly 700 staff across all grades on Keolis Amey Docklands Light Railway for both strike action and action short of a strike in a dispute over a range of serious unresolved issues that are wrecking industrial relations.

The ballot will open later this week and will close on the 22nd October.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/224/15, 23^rd September 2015), and following further correspondence from the Lead Officer and Branch Secretary, the General Grades Committee has taken the decision to inform the Company that we are in dispute and to organise a ballot of members working for KAD for strike action and action short of strike action over a catalogue of issues, which are outlined below.

I recently received correspondence from our DLR Branch Secretary, advising that a vote was taken at a recent Branch meeting for a ballot for industrial action over numerous issues, including allocation of duties, understaffing and bullying affecting our members working for Keolis Amey Docklands on the DLR.

“We note the report from the Lead Officer that due to our continuing industrial action significant progress has been made in the talks.

As a result we instruct the General Secretary to suspend all current action of Station Staff.

However, we further instruct the General Secretary to inform London Underground that until our reasonable and just demands are met we will remain in dispute and we will take further strike action on the 8th September 2015 and the 10th September 2015.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/124/15, 14th May 2015), members are congratulated for their solidarity in returning a magnificent result in favour of taking strike action. This prompted some movement from KAD management and our RMT Reps recently attended a meeting with the Company where the following revised three year pay offer was tabled:-

A 2% pay increase, backdated to 1st January 2015 (including for allowances) and running to 31st March 2016.
