Track noise dispute action suspended as RMT wins significant concessions

That we note the report from the Lead Officer that talks yesterday and today have produced a potential resolution to the excessive track noise, with short–mid and long term fixes that will ease, minimise and then remove this unacceptable situation put upon our members and travelling public.

Piccadilly Night Tube concerns

Subject: MEAL RELIEF POINT, ARNOS GROVE DEPOT – LONDON UNDERGOUND

We instruct the General Secretary to place an updated report back in front of this NEC; and to combine this file to create a new file: “ Night Tube Issues – Piccadilly Line.”

Central Line RMT reps secures drivers above 'minimum numbers agreement'

Subject: BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, CENTRAL LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the meeting with Drivers Local and Functional Representatives took place, and that it was reported that:

  • An extra 20 surplus requirements positions have been allocated to ease staffing issues.
  • A guarantee of a minimum 15 extra surplus requirements positions to the 2009 agreement will be maintained by the company.

It was reported that progress made at talks is taking a while to filter down due to resistance from local management.

Victoria Line dispute discussions continue

Subject: BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, VICTORIA LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the meeting with Drivers Local and Functional Representatives took place, and that discussions are ongoing with local meetings with the company.

It was agreed that members of the Trains Functional Council will also continue to address this matter with the company, and report on progress to the Lead Officer in
early October.

We instruct the General Secretary to place an updated report in front of this NEC.

Urgent meeting called over 'unacceptable' track conditions

That we note the resolution from our Central Line West Branch regarding the unacceptable track conditions and the failure of management to address these reported unsafe matters.

We instruct the General Secretary to arrange an urgent meeting of all our Central Line Driver H&S Representatives from both branches, Trains Safety Council, the Lead Officer, Senior Assistant General Secretary and members of the NEC.

Central Line East & West Branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.

96.4% ‘yes’ ballot result in excessive track noise dispute

That we note the strong 96.4% ‘yes’ ballot result for Action Short of a Strike our members have returned in this dispute, and congratulate our members, branches, reps and Lead Officer.
We also note a meeting with the company took place last week which went well; and that we are waiting for a letter from London Underground setting out resolutions to the matter of excessive rail noise following that meeting.
