We note the report from our Regional Organiser. As staff transfer from the employment of London Underground Ltd to TfL, management are refusing to accept that policies and procedures transfer with them under TUPE. This will lead to a weakening of our members’ rights, exactly the situation that the TUPE regulations purport to prevent.

We note the report from our Regional Organiser, that London Underground has given an assurance that the ‘community wardens’ are not used in Finsbury Park station, and that our local representatives confirm this.
We remain vigilant over this or similar developments, and ask branches and representatives to inform us if they become aware of any attempt to use non-LUL people to carry out or infringe upon LUL staff’s work.
London Transport Regional Council and branches to be advised.

We note the report from our Regional Organiser. We instruct the General Secretary to write to London Underground seeking confirmation that no Level 2 or Tier 2 representative will be prevented from attending full meetings of their Council by this arrangement.

At the heart of this deal is the ripping up of our hard earned driving parameters that form our Train’s Framework Agreement. In essence, ASLEF/Management want to run a 21st Century railway with 19th Century terms and conditions.

TUC PLEDGES UNANIMOUS SUPPORT FOR CAMPAIGN AGAINST MCNULTY RAIL ATTACK
I am pleased to be able to report that TUC congress has voted unanimously to throw its support behind the campaign to stop the McNulty review attack on our railways.
RMT Learning have organised several language courses. They are available to anybody who wishes to attend. The cost will decrease if more people attend a course.

RMT General Grades Committee decision:
We note that London Underground management announced yesterday that they have reached a ‘deal’ for train drivers during the Olympic Games period. RMT has not agreed this deal; this union registered our failure to agree at the Trains Functional Council meeting.
RMT General Grades Committee decision:
We note the legal advice received regarding the prospects of legal action over the repeated attacks on our members and our union in the Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association newspaper publication TAXI.
We instruct the General Secretary to arrange a meeting between our legal adviser and officers of our London Taxis branch to share information and discuss issues highlighted in the advice.
Updated legal advice to be obtained following this meeting and placed back in front of us.
RMT General Grades Committee decision:
We endorse the Track Contractors’ Charter drafted by our LU engineering reps to form part of our Rail Renewals forum, and instruct the General Secretary to ensure that it is printed promptly and in sufficient quantities.
We note that the Council of Executives has already agreed reduced-rate subs for these workers, and that the branch has an effective campaign plan. We look forward to a successful campaign to recruit to RMT, achieve recognition, and win improvements for these workers.
