REDUNDANCIES, STATION ADMIN STAFF - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/16/3)

The following resolution has been received from our East Ham Branch:-

“This branch is appalled by London Underground's proposals to significantly cut numbers of Stations Admin staff.

These cuts will cause unacceptable stress to our members, with increased workloads, significant changes to their roles and unsafe workloads. Additionally, this will create extra work for our station staff members, who will have to take on some of the responsibilities that currently fall to our admin members.

Your reps have now seen the outcome of the preferencing exercise for Station Admin staff. We again stressed to the company that the RMT does not and cannot agree to our members having to reapply for their own jobs. We believe that you all do a fantastic job and are fully capable to continue doing so, without the need to be put under stress or humiliation by having to sit an exam in a classroom to carry on in the role you are currently carrying out successfully.

Your London Underground Transformation Reps wanted to provide you with an update on how consultation is progressing.

Throughout consultation, we have opposed any job losses ad will continue to do so. We have scrutinised pooling documents and questioned the company’s rationale on many of the pools. We have successfully changed a number of pools and had people moved into the correct pools when the company have misplaced them. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to successfully achieve this in all cases and are pursuing those on an individual basis.

As part of the transformation consultation, the RMT have organised a Mass Meeting to feedback to our members involved in this reorganisation and decide our next course of action.

The meeting will take place at 14:00 - 16:00, Tuesday 8th May in the Mahatma Ghandi Hall, Indian YMCA, 41 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6AQ.

The agenda for the meeting is:

1. Feedback and Reports from the Negotiating Reps on TfL, LUL and JNP

2. Questions from the floor, and then a response from your reps.

This is an open letter from station staff RMT members to our support staff (AG1’s in old money).

We have become increasingly concerned at the proposals you are facing as part of LU’s so-called Transformation. We ourselves have just been dragged through the lunacy of Fit for the Future: Stations, and we always knew that when LU had finished with us, other groups of LU staff would likely come under the cosh.

Please see the attached letter that was sent to London Underground, raising concerns of our ex-TubeLines members who are at a significant detriment through Transformation, compared to other members

Your MATS reps, along with the other unions, met with London Underground on 29/03/18 for the latest consultation meeting. We raised a number of issues in the meeting including:

• Preferencing forms sent out with agreement

Your RMT reps, along with the other unions, were due to meet London Underground today (03/04/18) for the latest consultation meeting. Unfortunately, the company have cancelled today’s meeting.

Your Transformation reps were due to meeting today (27/03/18) with London Underground, however, this meeting has been postponed until Thursday 29^th March. We will give you a full update after that meeting, but this is the latest update.
