We note the report from our Regional Organiser on this shocking case. We are appalled that London Underground has seen fit to victimise and sack a member of staff who did nothing more than stand up for herself against a racist attack while she was off-duty.
We note that there is to be a Directors' Review of this case tomorrow, and give notice that should this not lead to Dayna’s reinstatement, this union will fight this injustice with all methods at our disposal.
We therefore instruct the General Secretary to:

CSA Dayna Nembhard
After 8 years unblemished service, Dayna was callously sacked without any corroborated evidence to justify a Gross Misconduct charge.
Pregnant Dayna had finished work and stopped at the KFC for a bite to eat. Unprovoked, a white female customer racially attacked her. Fearing harm to her unborn child, mildmannered Dayna sought to defend
herself.

RMT COMMENT ON POLL SHOWING FEAR OF VIOLENCE ON LONDON TRANSPORT
Today, the End Violence Against Women coalition has published the results of a YouGov survey showing that 28% of women and 15% of men do not feel safe travelling on London transport at all times of the day and night.
The Women's Lunch will be held on Thursday 3rd May between 12 and 5pm in the upstairs function room at the Theodore Bullfrog,
The address is 26-30 John Adam Street (off Villiers street), WC2N 6HL.
Nearest stations are Charing Cross and Embankment.
It would be great to see as many RMT women there as possible, and please feel free to either drop in for a bite to eat or stay all afternoon.
If you haven't already done so, please RSVP to women@rmtlondoncalling.org.uk
RMT Council of Executives decision:
We welcome the resolution from our National Women’s Conference recommending that the union produce a regular women’s newsletter, and refer this to the Equal Rights Sub-Committee for examination and report to the next Council of Executives meeting.
This year’s RMT National Women’s Conference, 9 & 10th March 2012, will be webcast live via the members' area of the RMT website.
Any RMT member wishing to watch should go to RMT's website and click on the members' area in the top menu bar on the home page.
Once there you will be prompted to enter a username (your membership number), and your password. Anyone who cannot remember their password should click on the 'register as new user' heading and follow the instructions.
RMT General Grades Committee decision:
We note the documentation on file regarding TfL’s proposal to divide its Equality and Inclusion team into two parts, one for staff issues and one for service delivery. We endorse the objections that staff side have raised to this proposal. We further believe that this division inaccurately implies a significant difference between equalities issues facing workers and those facing passengers, whereas workers and passengers share similar a interest in an accessible, non-discriminatory transport system.
