DISCIPLINARY – L. CORNELL, S. SOUISSI & D. SHARP – LONDON BRIDGE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/4/4)

Following a report recently received from the Lead Officer, along with correspondence from our Jubilee South Branch, the National Executive Committee has taken the decision to declare a dispute situation and ballot all RMT Station Grades members in the London Bridge Area for strike action and action short of a strike over the above.

TUBE UNION RMT today suspended tube stations strike action scheduled to start on Sunday following talks which mean that nearly 60% of the original job cuts planned by LU have now been reversed after three years of solid campaigning.LU, under Mayor Boris Johnson, slashed station staff numbers by 953.

RMT's campaign, involving sustained industrial action, means that 533 of those jobs will have been reinstated.RMT particularly welcomes the agreement to reopen control rooms and the guarantee of promotion into safety critical grades for Customer Service Assistants grade 2 positions.

DISPLACEMENT, TRAIN OPERATORS, CENTRAL LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/16/4)

Following the rock-solid strike action taken by RMT tube station members on the 8th and 9th of January the union today confirmed a new phase of action from the 6th of February.

The union’s executive has agreed, following extensive consultation with reps across the tube network, that further, escalated strike action will be called from Monday 6th February unless London Underground meet RMT’s reasonable demands on station staffing and safety.

Tube staff out in force across the network in fight for jobs and safety

General Secretary Mick Cash said; "Our members are out in force across London Underground this morning in the fight for jobs and safety. The strike action is ‎being solidly supported on every line, at every station and on picket lines right across the Tube network.

"This action has been forced on us by savage cuts to jobs that have reduced London Underground to an under-staffed death trap at a time of heightened security and safety alert.

Today myself and senior RMT reps, The TSSA  and LUL at met ACAS on the above dispute for the 3rd day this week. Despite the strong effort of our Negotiation team we were not able to make any progress on the key issues of the loss of 838 jobs, displacements  and Transfer arrangements, destaffing of control rooms, abuse of CSA2 grades at the expense of CSA1 and roster balance.

LUL Station Staffing & Safety Arrangements , Post Implementation of Fit for the Future. ACAS Update Thursday 5th January 2017

Dear RMT Members,

Today myself and senior RMT reps, The TSSA and LUL met at ACAS for the second day on the above dispute.

Despite my request yesterday to make a radically improved offer and a whole day of conciliation at ACAS no improvements were forthcoming.

LUL have stated they want to return tomorrow for talks, and we of course are available. If there are developments I will report back.

RMT members working on London Underground stations are taking strike action today because London Underground management will not take the action needed to address a crisis on our tube stations.
