• 00:01 and 23:59 on 2nd May 2013

Jubilee Line Drivers To Strike

The RMT today congratulated members on their determination to challenge the problems at North Greenwich and Stratford depots. Members voted by 85.7% for industrial action.

In line with the strike action called by ASLEF, RMT members are to take strike action by not booking on for duties commencing between:

  • 00:01 and 23:59 on 2nd April 2013
  • 00:01 and 23:59 on 2nd May 2013

Jubilee Line drivers are striking in a dispute over bullying of staff through the misuse of procedures and an appalling decline in the standard of working conditions.

RMT Protest Against Staff Cuts At London Transport Museum

This union completely rejects the proposal to reduce staffing at the London Transport Museum by six full-time-equivalent posts. We reiterate our opposition to all moves to cut jobs at this essential cultural and historical asset, whether the employer intends to achieve this through compulsory redundancy, voluntary severance or any other method.

Beeching 2 Could Be Imminent On 50th Anniversary Of Rail 'Decimation' Report

This Wednesday, 27th March 2013, marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of the infamous Beeching report which led to the decimation of much of the UK’s railways. Unions and campaigners, under the Action for Rail banner, will be out at railway stations up and down the country ramping up the campaign to defend rail services and to renationalise the entire network.

RMT suspends Bakerloo action

RMT on Thursday 21st of March agreed to suspend the Bakerloo detrainment action. While noting that progress had been made since the initial introduction of ‘flash and dash’, LU’s proposals fully accepted by ASLEF, fell short of the union’s aspirations for a proper detrainment policy that would be acceptable elsewhere on the combine.

"Effective Union Organisation" Leads To Industry Leading London Overground Pay Rise

Rail Union RMT confirmed today that after constructive talks with London Overground the union and the company have agreed an industry-leading 3.85% pay deal for LOROL staff in 2013 as part of a 4 year pay award. Years 2,3 and 4 are inflation (RPI) plus 0.5% - protecting and enhancing staff living standards into the future at a time when there is an unprecedented national attack on wages and conditions.

Jubilee Dispute Goes To ACAS

We note the correspondence from London Underground Ltd, and that talks about this dispute are scheduled to take place under the auspices of ACAS on Wednesday 27 March.
