RMT Response To Massive Tube Job Cuts

RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said:

“No matter how this is dressed up by Boris Johnson and his officials, today’s announcement is all about slashing £270 million from the annual London transport budget and the proposed cuts will decimate staffing levels and hit the most vulnerable users of tube services the hardest. The mayor must believe he is some sort of magician if he thinks he can slash a thousand jobs and still run safe services when everyone knows that staffing has already been cut to the bone while passenger demand continues to rise.

Breakdown in Industrial Relations- Bakerloo

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS

Dear drivers:

It is with regret that I have to inform you that despite attempts by the RMT to talk to Bakerloo management regarding our outstanding grievances around the imposition of WTT39 and the issue of across the board 26 week warnings issued at LDIs, we are no further forward.

We requested an emergency meeting with management to discuss these issues almost two weeks ago. This was turned down on the basis that they could see no problem.

Our concerns remain:

Emergency Bakerloo Branch Meeting

Emergency Bakerloo Branch Meeting

Management have refused our request for an emergency meeting to discuss:
-The lack of consultation over changes to duties included in WTT39
-The issuing of maximum 26 week warning at almost all attendance LDIs

We will be meeting to get as many of your views as possible and discuss what we do next.

The meeting will be at 1400hrs on Friday 22nd November at the Clachan pub, Kingly Street.

Five minutes walk from Oxford Circus station.

Join The Rally - No Cuts On The Tube

A members' rally is being held on the 26th of November at Friends House 173 Euston Road 2BJ at 1830 for RMT members on the tube to discuss and contribute to the discussion on how to tackle expected cuts across London Underground.

We are expecting an announcement of cuts on the 21st; so this rally will be an ideal opportunity to find out what is going on and how as a union we can respond.

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
