Inaugural Festival of Trade Union Education & Organising

Hi, the above event takes place next Saturday 20th September commencing at 11.00hrs and closing at 17.00hrs, at our National Education Centre. Entrance is by ticket or RMT membership card only (licencing requirement). The event hopes to attract as many of our members, officials, reps and staff to the centre to see the facilities and opportunities the centre offers the Union. It is also being organised as a family day with entertainment for children, alongside live music all day, licenced bar (selling locally brewed ‘Bobs Brew’) barbecue and hog roast.

RMT Seeks Legal Advice On ISS Plan

‘That we note the responses from the Relief Regional Organiser South, Finsbury Park and Edinburgh No.1 Branches along with legal opinion. It is the Union’s view that the proposal by ISS could be deemed as unlawful and therefore we instruct the General Secretary to inform the Company of our rejection of their
amendment due to breaches of section 10 of the Employment Relations Act 1999.
