RMT calls on London mayor to ensure cleaners wages are paid

Subject: NON-PAYMENT OF WAGES – PREMIER WORK SUPPORT (ABM CONTRACT)

That we note the completely unacceptable treatment of our cleaner members; getting paid on time for work done is one requirement that is sacrosanct to all our members, and we will not allow this non-payment of wages to continue or responsibility for this to be avoided by Premier Work Support or ABM via some paper-thin manoeuvre, where each blame the other and our members rights fall down between the two!

Central Line strike solid

RMT members rock solid in strike action on Central Line over breakdown in industrial relations and abuse of procedures.

Tube union RMT confirmed that members are standing rock solid this morning at the start of 24 hours of strike action on London Underground’s Central Line over a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations, a failure to employ enough drivers, a wholesale abuse of agreed procedures and the victimisation of a trade union member.

Picc strike action suspended

Subject: BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from the Lead Officer regarding last Friday’s members and reps meeting; where the view was that we should suspend the strike action for tomorrow due to progress made at ACAS, with the company now seemingly abiding by agreements and implementing them.

Ballot matrix prepared over degraded, substandard conditions at Morden depot

Subject: MORDEN DEPOT – GARTH HOUSE

That we note the resolution from our London Transport Regional Council regarding the degraded, sub-standard work conditions and welfare facilities at Morden Depot and the company’s unwillingness to address these most basic and necessary provisions.

We also note the matter is to be raised at a coming Trains Safety Council meeting, and instruct the General Secretary to place an updated report in front of this NEC following this meeting.

ABM threaten RMT over job massacre article

Subject: STAFFING LEVELS – ABM (LONDON UNDERGROUND CONTRACT)

Threats from ABM Regarding Alleged “Defamation”!

That we note a letter has been received from the Company, that while not directly refuting our position that ABM are seeking to reduce the workforce by almost a third, makes the direct threat “to take further action” against the union if we address this issue in a publication ever again!

LU: reinstate brother Mahoney or we will ballot for industrial action

Subject: BULLYING BY MANAGEMENT, METROPOLITAN LINE SOUTH COVER GROUP – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from our Lead Officer; that the issues of bullying and maltreatment of our members remains unresolved.

We also note the company has undertaken to review the dismissal of Bro Mahoney, and state here and now that unless Bro Mahoney is re-instated without delay; this union will issue them the notice and commence a ballot of our members for industrial action(s).

Night Tube station staff survey

London Underground is reviewing the experience of the first two years of Night Tube on stations, and RMT is putting forward key demands to improve Night Tube station staff’s working conditions. We are carrying out this survey to gather evidence in support of these demands, to check that you support them, and to identify other issues that you would like the union to raise. We will only use your responses for these purposes.

You can have your say by completing this survey.

Dispute arises as Tube bosses leave duties uncovered

Subject: DUTIES/SHIFT COVERAGE, BAKERLOO LINE SOUTH GROUP – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from the Lead Officer regarding talks with the company; and that we have had no satisfactory undertaking that duties will be sufficiently covered. It actually appears to be the case that if they could get away with skeleton staffing all stations they would!

This breaching of their own policy and procedure creates undue stress on our members and puts them and the travelling public at risk’ representing a breakdown in trust between the company, their staff and this union.
