Further to my previous Circular (IR/80/19, 22nd February 2019), the ballot closed and the result was as follows: -

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:    171

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                       74

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:             74

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:              0

Regrettably the above results do not meet the necessary 50% turnout threshold however, the National Executive Committee has noted that significant progress has been made in addressing staff coverage and alleviating the associated problems created by the shortage of staff. The NEC has taken the decision to arrange a meeting of the relevant IR and H&S Reps with the Lead Officer, Senior Assistant General Secretary and NEC in attendance. I am currently acting in accordance with this decision and will keep Branches advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash

General Secretary
