There is a meeting at Unity House on Thursday to discuss and plan for action for the reinstatement of Alex McGuigan.
The ballot returned a positive result and it's now our duty to ensure that democratic decision by our members is carried out to the best of our abilities.
Please try and come down to this very important meeting.
Build for action.

DISMISSAL, N. ROBERTS – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/4/1)
Further to previous correspondence (Circular No. IR/261/14, 3rd October 2014), members will be aware that RMT is also conducting a campaign against the unfair dismissal of Brother Noel Roberts from London Underground and we have recently received a resolution from East Ham Branch in relation to this matter, which is as follows:-
East Ham branch are holding an organising/recruitment day on Thursday November 6
Meet at West Ham station at 1000
Vicky, Noel and Alex have been dismissed by LUL
This is our chance to build support and make sure everyone is aware of their issues
Loss of earnings will be covered by the region
Following the recruitment day, the East Ham branch will be held at the Spotted Dog PH, Barking at 1645
Reinstate Vicky, Alex and Noel immediately
Reinstate unfairly sacked workers, Noel Roberts, Alex McGuigan and Vicky Hayward
RMT have pledged to defend 3 of our members who have been sacked by LUL
Noel was dismissed under capability, even though he was fully fit for work and hadn't had a day off sick for over 10 months.

Alex was dismissed for failing a breath test. LUL were aware he has type 2 diabetes and the probability of registering a false positive was known. But LUL destroyed the urine sample that would have given a definitive answer.

On Saturday 19th October, around 50 people attended a protest outside Whitechapel Underground station in protest at the plans to permanently close the ticket office when the station undergoes refurbishment as part of the Crossrail project. The protest was organised by the East Ham Branch of the RMT – I am their Branch Secretary. Members from across the country, from all grades – shipping to management – came and offered their support, handing out leaflets to the public, gathering petition signatures and making lots of noise.

STOP ATTACKING OUR REPS!
It looks like LUL are going back on their promise after the RMT successfully defended RMT H&S rep Eamonn Lynch and former RMT rep Arwyn Thomas. Now they are trying to sack Gary Woolf - I.R. rep on the Tower Hill group
