RMT to resist transfer of engineering workers from LUL to TfL

PROPOSED TRANSFER OF ENGINEERING, MAJOR PROJECTS, PMO AND CHANGE DELIVERY ACTIVITY FROM LONDON UNDERGROUND LIMITED (LUL) TO TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL) (TFL/15/10)

The Company has recently advised of its proposal to transfer all engineering, major projects, change delivery and PMO activity from LUL to TfL. There are 1511 affected employees and the proposed transfer date is now 30th April 2017.

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted the correspondence on file and is completely resolved to resist these attacks by the Company with all means at our disposal. I have written to LUL to demand that the proposed transfers of London Underground employees, and any other planned machinery meetings, are halted and that this matter continues to be dealt with at LU Company Council level. I am also seeking legal advice on all aspects of this proposed transfer, specifically regarding the imposition of TfL ‘Pay for Performance’ midway through the agreed London Underground multi-year pay deal.

I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
