What is a National Executive Committee decision?
This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.
These decisions can often be brief, and may be one of several passed over a period of time. To get a better understanding or find out more information about what the RMT is doing, speak to your rep or attend your branch or Regional Council meeting.
Subject: DISMISSAL, HARVINDER BILLING, CSA2, HEATHROW –LONDON UNDERGROUND
That we note the views of yesterday’s reps meeting regarding the dismissal by the company of Bro Harvinder for allegedly not carrying out procedure around ticket office accounting, when the cash handling devices are riven with faults; and resulting discrepancies in accounting are rife as a result but that no adequate training exists for addressing these instances.
The situation in relation to this facing station staff across the whole of the Tube Network is endemic; and it is an outrage that instead of addressing the actual problems the company is in effect setting-up and then sacking our stations members.
Bro Harvinder Billing must be re-instated!
WHO WILL BE NEXT?!
Accordingly; we instruct the General Secretary to inform the company we are now in dispute and to ballot all station staff members at the Heathrow Cover Group: CSM’s, CSS’s, CSA1’s, CSA2’s for Industrial Action in the form of:
Strike Action
Action Short of a Strike; namely:
No member to enter a P.O.M room or service a P.O.M machine alone; members must be accompanied at all times by an appropriate member of staff in any P.O.M room.
Members to be advised by email & text.
Piccadilly & District West Branch, all operational LU branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.
