VICTIMISATION, IAN NORRIS, SERVICE CONTROLLER, OSBORNE HOUSE - LONDON UNDERGROUND

I have received a resolution from our Finsbury Park Branch raising grave concerns over the treatment meted out by management to your RMT Representative, Brother Norris. The concerted efforts of management against Ian led to disciplinary proceedings being taken against him.

Service control dispute update

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, SERVICE CONTROL, OSBORNE HOUSE - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular No: IR/391/20, 1st October 2020, our Lead Officer has provided an update report on the matter. This follows the previous unanimous ballot result and planned industrial action which was suspended following progress made through ACAS in resolving the issues in dispute.

Your NEC has considered the report and noted that the view of our Reps is that there is no need to re-ballot at this time on the matter.

Supreme court ruling awaited in holiday pay case

CALCULATION OF HOLIDAY PAY - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/9/8)

When I last wrote to you on the above matter, Circular No: IR/416/20, 16th October 2020, branches will recall the union is awaiting a Supreme Court ruling that would have a significant bearing on this matter. Members' cases were to be brought but for there to be a stay in their proceeding until the Supreme Court's ruling is announced.

Long service award changes

Further to Circular IR/134/17, 27th March 2017, correspondence has been received from TfL concerning changes they intend to make to Long Service Awards.

RMT in dispute as Tube bosses announce train driver job cuts at Queen's Park depot

JOB CUTS, TRAIN OPERATORS, QUEENS PARK DEPOT - LONDON UNDERGROUND - (LUL/14/5)

The following resolution was recently received from the Bakerloo Line Branch:-

“This branch notes LU's declared intention to cut Train Operators jobs at Queen's Park Depot. These cuts involve a reduction of 11 rostered positions (101 to 90) and one pool position (six to five), amounting to a total of cut of more than 10% of the existing workforce.

TFL PENSION FUND - INDEPENDENT REVIEW

You will be aware that the RMT sent an email to our LUL members on 4th January 2021 outlining our disgust and opposition to the findings of the Independent Panel Review in respect of the TfL Pension Fund. As you will recall the Independent Panel Review makes the assumption that the TfL Pension Fund is expensive, outdated and must be reformed, a suggestion that this union totally rejects.

AUTOMATIC TRAIN OPERATION TRAINING, SMA3, DISTRICT LINE - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/11/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/007/1/21, 8th January 2021), the following resolution was received from Piccadilly & District West Branch:-

“This Branch notes that despite the RMT concerns over safety and preparedness, LU management decided to plough ahead with the operational proving weekend on the 9th and 10th January.
