DEFENDING JOBS, PENSIONS AND AGREEMENTS - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular IR/82/22, 29th March 2022, a meeting of Reps from all LUL functions took place where members' anger at LUL's attempts to impose massive cuts by undermining pensions, jobs and conditions was clearly expressed. The meeting committed to take further all grades strike action and the National Executive Committee has taken the decision to conduct a re-ballot of all LUL members on the same basis as before to ensure our mandate for action remains live.

I can advise that ballot papers will be posted to all members tomorrow and the closing date for this ballot is Thursday 23rd June 2022. I urge all members to again return a massive yes vote to allow us to continue fighting for jobs, pensions and to defend working agreements.

In addition to failing to give us the above main assurances, LUL is now seeking to impose 600 job cuts on stations and proposed staffing levels for Heathrow, Kings Cross, Euston, Victoria and Green Park show that management is aiming to cut between 25% and 40% of CSA jobs at each location. Having consulted with the Stations Functional Council, the National Executive Committee declared that this demands an immediate response and all LUL members in Station Grades and Revenue Grades are instructed NOT TO BOOK ON for any shifts that commence between 00:01 hours and 23:59 hours on Monday 6th June 2022. Also not to work any overtime or rest days between 00:01 hours on Friday 3rd June and 23:59 hours on Sunday 10th July 2022.

I urge all members to show support for our Stations and Revenue Grades to demand that LUL immediately withdraws its plans for the managed decline of our stations. I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
