INDEPENDENT PANEL REVIEW - TRANSPORT FOR LONDON

TfL recently released the full report from the Independent Panel Review, commissioned by the Mayor, which focuses on increased funding and cost-savings. RMT attended a meeting regarding the report and the Union has already made it clear to TfL that this review is an attack on staff.

Cubic pay offer accepted

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2020 - CUBIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS (TFL/0001/CTS)

Following discussions with the Company regarding the above, the offer which was received in full and final settlement of our claim was as follows:-

A 1.5% increase, effective from 1st April 2020

This offer applies to both the UTS Technicians and London Cycle Hire Contracts.

RMT secures important assurances over ABM introduction of mobile devices

INTRODUCTION OF MOBILE DEVICES, CLEANERS - ABM (LUL/27/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/339/20, 27th August 2020), the Lead Officer has had discussions with ABM over its introduction of mobile devices and I am pleased to advise that following these talks, a number of important assurances and protections have been secured for members, including:-

Sodexo ditches compulsory redundancy plan following RMT ballot threat

REORGANISATION AND JOB CUTS - SODEXO (TFL CONTRACT) (LUL/15/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/441/20, 3rd November 2020), I advised Sodexo that a dispute situation existed over its restructuring plans including 30 job cuts across TfL sites. The Lead Officer then met with the Company and it has now been confirmed that Sodexo no longer intends to make any compulsory redundancies.

Thales redundancies update

REDUNDANCIES - THALES (LUL/16/3)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/339/20), Branches will recall that Thales had commenced with a redundancy process with a proposal to make 82 staff redundant from redundancy selection pools containing 137 staff.

Since Thales began implementing their proposals 20 staff have been redeployed with several more potentially being redeployed overseas. 5 staff working in Health and Safety have taken voluntary redundancy.

CALCULATION OF HOLIDAY PAY - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/9/8)

Further to my previous Circular (IR208/20, 13th June 2020), the Lead Officer, Reps and NEC met with our Legal Department and updated legal advice has been received relating to our prospective legal action to secure the inclusion of overtime in the calculation of holiday pay for members working for LUL.
