London Underground Fleet members to be balloted over pensions dispute

22nd January 2016 Circular Num: NP/029/16

Dear Colleagues,

TUBE LINES – ACTION ON PENSIONS

Please find below a resolution submitted by the LU Fleet Branch:

“The feeling of the members regarding parity of pensions has gone on for far too long. We feel the time is right to ballot all Tube Lines members on the pensions issue.

We strongly believe that no agreement should be implemented on Pay or Night Tube until this long standing issue is resolved. (No Pensions, No Night Tube).

Meeting to discuss tube dispute offer

Following talks at ACAS yesterday, a revised offer has been received from London Underground in respect of Pay & Night Running and also Fit for the Future Stations.

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee and they have instructed me to organise a meeting for all RMT Industrial Reps to discuss these developments in the above long-running disputes. Although paid release has not as yet been agreed, you are urged to make every effort to attend as your views are essential.

The meeting details are as follows:-

Tube bosses told unless ACAS talks make good progress we will strike

Dear RMT members

Today myself with senior RMT reps met LUL with the other unions at acas .We have laid out our demands on all the issues effected and told the company that unless good progress is made the strikes will take place and further industrial action could be called. LUL listened to our presentations and the talks are adjourned until next week. When all parties have agreed to continue discussions. As soon as we have further updates I will report back.

In solidarity

Massive pay win for RMT cleaners on DLR

Transport union RMT has secured a massive pre-Christmas pay victory for key groups of staff working for outsourcing company Interserve on London’s Docklands Light Railway.

After RMT put on a package of strike action and action short of a strike further negotiations have been held with Interserve on the pay issue.

As a result of the industrial pressure the company have now agreed to a 75p per hour increase for all cleaning supervisors, travel safe and security staff, backdated to April 2015.
