Annual elections for Reps and branch officials at this months Branch AGM
The time of year has come where RMT members of the Jubilee South Branch get to choose who represents them. This takes place at the Annual General Meeting of the branch which this year takes place on 28th November at the Spice Lounge above the Blue Eyed Maid on Borough High St Starting 16.00hrs All workplace Rep positions on Stations and Trains both Industrial relations & Heath and Safety are due for election.

Workers United Against Racism
The London Olympics was a resounding success thanks to the role of different sections of workers who delivered the Games.
London Underground staff worked around the clock to provide an excellent service for the million extra passengers a day. People from all over the world, able bodied and disabled, expressed their delight that stations were staffed by knowledgeable staff. Behind the scenes our engineers and service controllers kept the service running like clockwork while our drivers delivered passengers swiftly and safely to their destinations.

Ticket Office Discrepancies
As a new batch of surplus/loss letters have just gone out I am re-circulating the attached pro-forma memo for you to use in response to any letter you receive.
If you know a discrepancy has arisen because of machine failure or similar then write your own memo giving this information. If you do not know why a discrepancy has occurred I suggest you use the attached.

The latest edition of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender newsletter 'Standing Proud' is now available.
It has stories on recent meetings and events including our successful demonstration at the Zimbabwe embassy against anti - gay activities carried out by the Zimbabwean government, and also the motions passed at the recent LGBT Advisory committee.
On 20th October the RMT will be marching alongside many other trade unions, community groups and tens of thousands of ordinary people from every corner of the UK . This is because we believe that austerity is not working.
The RMT will be marching against wholesale job cuts, attacks on the welfare state and cuts in public services. The Government in the UK is not punishing the few in the banking and finance sectors who caused the global financial crisis, instead it is hitting hardest on the working classes and the poorest in society who had no part in causing the global financial crisis.
