Euston Area ballot called due to unacceptable management behaviour

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, EUSTON AREA (VICTORIA CENTRAL GROUP) - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Since the suspension of industrial action last year (IR/115/22, 1st June 2022), industrial relations at Euston Area have deteriorated again due to an increase in management bullying and consistent mistreatment of members with disabilities or on long-term sickness.

The previous review was critical of management on the Area and stated that HR policies were not being managed in accordance with LUL's values. The issues have now arisen again, clearly due to the manager's unacceptable behaviour. Despite recent meetings with management in an effort for them to act to resolve this breakdown in industrial relations, no action has been taken.

The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and taken the decision to ballot Station Grades (CSA, CSS & CSM) members at Euston Area for strike action and action short of a strike in the form of an overtime and rest day working ban. Ballot papers will be posted to members on Monday 17th July and the closing date is Tuesday 8th August 2023.

If any member does not receive their ballot paper, please ask them to call the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or e-mail info@rmt.org.uk. I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
