The proposed Tory anti-union laws would outlaw strikes if less than 50% of members voted in a ballot with an even stricter threshold for workers in ‘essential’ services. If these laws come in unchallenged, bosses will ride roughshod over all our workplace agreements and victimise our union reps.
It is now vital we mobilise on the streets for 20th June demo outside the Bank of England (Queen Victoria St) City of London (nearest tube: Bank) and show the full force of anti-austerity opinion by ensuring this demonstration is the biggest protest seen in London for years.
Important discussions to be had and decisions to be made about night tube; pay; fit for the future- ticket office closures, new rosters; ballots & industrial action Plus we have MP John McDonnell attending.
Meeting of TUSC candidates and supporters in the RMT

Labour’s inability to defeat the Tories in the general election underlines the importance of the political strategy of our union.
This meeting has been called so that candidates and supporters of TUSC in the RMT can come together to review the election and discuss what way forward for working class political representation.

I can confirm that the next branch meeting will take place in our usual venue, The Torch Pub-Wembley at the usual time of 16:00hrs on Wednesday 20th May. Apologies again to those who attended the last meeting when the pub was closed for refurbishment.
Due to refurbishment of The Torch, the pub is currently closed and unfortunately this months branch meeting has had to be cancelled. Apologies to those who came to attend, but we were expecting the pub to be open. Please watch this space for details of next months meeting.
DISMISSAL – PETRIT MIHAJ, SODEXO (LUL/4/4)
Further to my previous Circular (IR/332/14, 15th December 2014), Branches will be aware of the on-going campaign against Brother Mihaj’s dismissal from Sodexo. A meeting took place with the Senior Assistant General Secretary, the Lead Officer, LTRC and Branch Officers to discuss the issue and the following resolution has recently been received from the London Transport Regional Council:-
A day of action against tube cuts on Friday (27th March) was solidly supported by passengers and Londoners, with thousands of leaflets distributed from stations across London. RMT and campaign group Hands Off London Transport, jointly organised the day which was joined by dozens of reps and activists from the RMT union, HOLT group and supporters.
