Reinstate Petrit Mihaj - demo 17/4/15 1130 Sodexo HQ

We are campaigning against victimisation, discrimination, union busting and dismissal of our colleague and union representative Petrit Mihaj.
It’s been over a year since our rep Petrit Mihaj was victimised for his Trade Union (TU) activities and unfairly dismissed as proven in court. (Ref: P Mihaj v Sodexo Ltd)
Our campaign continues into its second year. After many successful demonstrations in 2014 and 2015, The RMT is stepping up this campaign by asking MP’s and candidates in the General Election campaign to stop funding racist and union busting employers.

Tube Ticket Offices - TfL Closure Plan Protests

REMINDER Day of Action: Friday 27th March

Transport for London is pressing ahead with closing all London Underground ticket offices and is doing so without consulting passengers or adequately trialling the impact first. This is in order that closed ticket offices can be leased out to retail businesses, a short-sighted step that will exacerbate already dangerously high and rising peak passenger through-flow.

Thales RMT members at Waterloo&Palestra - Reasons to VOTE YES

Reasons to vote 'YES' in the forthcoming ballot:

NO COMPULSORY REDUNDANCIES: There are vacancies and positions available, so let's fill them with people that are at risk. We believe that there is no need for these people to be worried about losing their jobs and Thales should end their at risk status NOW.

If it can happen to them, it can happen to YOU.

ETF Women's Committee, March 2015: Section Reports

DOCKS / PORTS

The Social Dialogue Committee for Ports had adopted a document about women's employment, including recruitment and working conditions for women. Women's employment has increased as technology has led to much port work becoming less physical.

Now the document has been adopted, it needs to be implemented. The strategy is based on raising awareness and changing the image of port work rather than on imposing quotas. Some trade unions have objected to this initiative, as they see women as "taking men's jobs".

Reinstate our reps

Our cleaning reps are being targeted by ruthless cleaning contractors who are given contracts by LUL, part of those contracts would appear to include a clause to systematically route out troublesome RMT reps.

We have a cleaner rep at Hainult depot suspended on entirely spurious grounds.
He has been on full pay at home for months.
Who picks up that tab?
Get him back to work.
Put up or shut up.
If it takes so long to fabricate a case against our member it's likely there is nothing to it.
Even unscrupulous anti trade union managers must accept that.
