We note the correspondence from London Underground Ltd. We further note the report from our Regional Organiser and the view of our representatives that this is the basis of a settlement of our dispute.

  • Keep noticecases up-to-date.
  • Give leaflets and newsletters to your workmates. Download material from www.rmtlondoncalling.org.uk/downloads
  • Speak to people at work.
  • Make sure that they feel comfortable to ask questions and give their views.
  • Take concerns seriously; provide answers, even if means going away and finding out.
  • If you can, produce a leaflet or newsletter for staff in your workplace.

We note the report from our Regional Organiser and the progress made in talks, and that London Underground Ltd has agreed to extend the period of our ballot mandate by 28 days. We note that the R.O. and the majority of representatives believe that sufficient progress has been made to suspend the industrial action and we therefore instruct the General Secretary to immediately advise the company and our members that the strike action due to begin at 12:00 on Wednesday 4 December 2013 is suspended.

  • that every ticket office will close by 2015
  • that nearly one thousand jobs on stations will go, with a net loss of 750 jobs

A report of this meeting is to be placed in front of us. London Transport Regional Council and branches to be advised.

RMT Steps Up Campaign Against Agency Attacks On Rail Jobs And Conditions

Rail union RMT said today that it is stepping up the campaign against attempts by agencies, notably Trainpeople, to force their way into the rail industry with the express intent of profiteering at the expense of jobs, security and decent pay and conditions.

RMT branches in Wales have alerted the union to the fact that there is a new drive by Trainpeople to try and get a foot in the door through an aggressive marketing approach to railway employers. The union has pledged again to fight off any attempts by Trainpeople, or similar agencies, to downgrade and casualise rail jobs.
