circular logo Circular No. IR. 380/09 dated 10th December 2009 from General Secretary Bob Crow

As you will be aware, the above ballot is well underway and is due to close on 21st December 2009. There had been some movement by the company since the decision to ballot was taken. This movement was confined to the medical redeployment arrangements only and not on the pay aspect itself.

The General Grades Committee’s decision on this is as follows:

“That we note the latest offer from LUL. While we welcome improvement to the medical termination in addition to existing arrangements, the package falls short of the aspirations of our members and is therefore not acceptable."

LGBT Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes from 26th November 2009

Submitted by smileypantsjo on Thu, 10/12/2009 - 00:14.

A circular went out to branches earlier this year seeking delegate nominations to be LGBT Advisory committee members as a region we are reserved 5 places on this forum and I was slightly shocked to hear for the first time in a while that we did not receive enough nominations to fill our quota. It should be noted that we are usually the only region to fill all allocated seats.

At the original deadline date only Myself from TfL No.1 Branch and Bro. Heyes from Stratford No.1 had been elected onto the committee.

Who will be next?

Train staff will be aware that Fitz Chambers was sacked on Tuesday 1st of December 2009. As a result of his unfair dismissal Bakerloo RMT unanimously agreed to ballot all Bakerloo drivers for his re-instatement.
It is the union’s conviction that London Underground has an agenda of reducing staffing levels and has an agenda of getting rid of syndicates in train crew depots. It is our view that these are the real reasons that Fitz was sacked and why he did not get a fair hearing.
