ROP & COS 2021 - TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL/0001/TFL)

Correspondence has been received from TfL which sets out the terms of the funding deal the Company have made with the Government in the Extraordinary Funding and Financing Agreement on 1st June 2021. As part of this agreement TfL have with the government the Company have committed to implementing a pay freeze during the life of the deal except where previous multi-year awards have been collectively agreed with the relevant trade unions.

TUBE UNION RMT warned today of a campaign of action as it emerged that the Government has placed adverts for a consultancy contract to explore the introduction of driverless trains on London Underground.

General Secretary Mick Lynch said;

"The news that the Government is pressing ahead with wasting money on a consultancy project on driverless trains on London Underground when there are massive challenges facing the transport network shows their twisted set of priorities.

As stated, this is to address the swinging TfL cuts that will affect all of us across all employers on TfL.

No release arrangements have been secured for this meeting, but you are nevertheless urged to make every effort to attend given its importance.

Further to my previous email, 8th September 2021, I can advise that following the publication of the First Stage of the Call for Evidence document in respect of the TfL Pension Fund review the staff side of the Pensions Working Group (PWG) were invited to respond to this consultation.

To remind you the PWG is made up of the recognised trade unions across LUL, and TfL management. The purpose of the PWG is to discuss matters in relation to the TfL Pension Fund.
