The new Uniform issue shoes / boots have been manufactured using pig skin. If, for ANY reason you don’t wish to wear these, then you can purchase your own shoes. Keep the receipt and Admin will refund you up to the value of £50. Any new shoes / boots must comply with the following guidelines -

Breakdown of industrial relations leads to Piccadilly strike ballot

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that it is to ballot nearly 400 train operators across the Piccadilly Line for both strike action and action short of a strike over a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations combining a range of issues. The ballot will open on Monday 22nd February and close on Tuesday 8th March.‎

 The Piccadilly is the fourth busiest line on the London Underground network transporting an average of 600,000 passengers a day and services London’s Heathrow airport – the busiest airport in Europe.

First phase of track safety 'Section 15' strike suspended

RMT suspends first phase of strike action in tube safety dispute.

Tube union RMT confirmed today that a first phase in a programme of industrial action involving nearly 1500 maintenance and renewals staff on London Underground and Tube Lines, in a fight over basic safety issues relating to what are known as “Section 15 possessions”, has been suspended after the union received confirmation that changes will be put on hold for two weeks to allow for a comprehensive safety review.

Taxi drivers demonstrate against regulator TfL

On Wednesday 10 February taxi drivers re-dedicate themselves to a campaign of protests to highlight their sorrow and now rage at the regulatory capture of taxi authority Transport for London.

The first of a series of steadily escalating demonstrations will see RMT and other bodies representing taxis stage a ‘go slow’ outside No.10 Downing Street, with activities focused between 2:30 - 4pm.

In the long running dispute with the Mayor, the RMT taxi branch are organising a demo/go slow around Whitehall and the Houses Of Parliament on Wednesday from 1330.

These demos have had a massive impact on London on the previous occasions they have taken place

We are asking any RMT reps/activists who are able to get down to Whitehall with flags, banners and hooters to give support to our taxi driver comrades.
