Changes to London Underground trains operational management

We note the letter from the company imposing this reorganisation on our members and staff in general.

We recognise the extensive work involved in this mater so therefore congratulate our Representatives for successfully mitigating the worse aspects of this restructuring through their negotiations with the company, and remain vigilant!

We instruct the General Secretary to organise a recruitment drive among these grades.

Members to be advised by written letter and email.

RMT General Secretary to raise concerns over removal of tunnel telephone wires with Tube bosses

We note the resolution from our Central Line East Branch and the sentiments within.

We instruct the General Secretary to raise these concerns with the company and place this matter back before the NEC upon any further developments. Train Operators have been trained in the essential safety net that tunnel telephone wires provide as a last resort in switching off traction current in an emergency and making contact with the line controller when no other method is available.

RMT accepts Balfour Beatty LUL contract pay offer

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2017 – BALFOUR BEATTY (LUL CONTRACT)

We note the report from our Lead Officer and the graduated pay offer from the company which provides our lowest paid members with a 5.6% pay rise.

We also note that our representatives recommend acceptance of the offer.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to advise the company of our acceptance of the offer.

Members to be informed by personal letter and email. LU Engineering Branch and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.

Tube strike ballot to be held in defense of London Bridge 3

In light of the deplorable treatment of our stations staff members; Brothers Siussi 52 weeks final warning, Sharp 52 weeks final warning, along with Cornel’s summary dismissal and his failed appeal that was an utter miscarriage of justice; We instruct the General Secretary to ballot all grades/members (CSA1, CSA2, CSS, CSM’s & RCI’s but excluding LU Staff Trainers at Ashfield House) based in all station areas and Cover Groups on London Underground for strike action and actions short of a strike.

Piccadilly Line drivers could be balloted if important training isn't reinstated

We note the resolution from our Piccadilly & District West Branch and the sentiments within; and we are completely opposed to the withdrawal of practical training of the very dangerous reversing move on the east bound platform at Kings Cross (reversing east to west), for Piccadilly Line Train Operators.

This exceptionally difficult move has been withdrawn from training purely to save money and it will put the travelling public in danger and put train operators jobs at risk.

Significant gains made in Fleet dispute

We note the report from our Lead Officer following the reps meeting yesterday, and we congratulate our Fleet members, representatives and the Lead Officer on the effective actions short of a strike and negotiations with the company which have led to significant gains being made in this dispute.

In light of these gains we instruct the General Secretary that we remain in dispute but to suspend all actions short of a strike to enable resolution talks at the appropriate level to continue.
