ISS KAD DLR strike ballot called after company disregards union's serious concerns

We note the report from the Lead Officer and correspondence from our Docklands Light Railway Branch; and that despite the union declaring a dispute back on the 4th October 2017, undertakings and promises made in talks by the company and prompts from our DLR Branch; that the company is disregarding our serious concerns and security issues.

This breakdown in industrial relations recklessly embarked on by the company is matched and exceeded by our members resolve to have their concerns addressed to their complete satisfaction.

Strike ballot called over Christmas working arrangements

We note the resolution from our LU Engineering Branch regarding the appalling treatment of our members in Asset Operations when it comes to recognising the severe impact that Christmas working has on family life.

We also note that payments are available for all or part of this period in other areas such as Major Projects, Tube Lines and for Train Drivers and this NEC agree with our branches demand at least parity and recognition for working these days.

VGC Works Train Controller members to be balloted for strike action

We note the report from the Lead Officer along with correspondence from LU Engineering Branch regarding the Work Train Controller members on the VGC Crossrail Project whose rate of pay is approximately half that of other grades.

Despite this matter being raised as a collective grievance, the rate of pay has not been corrected and the Lead Officer has requested a dispute situation and ballot for industrial action over this matter.

Transplant Maintenance Duty Managers, Team leaders and Advanced Train Maintainers industrial action

We note the report from our Lead Officer; and that no response has been forthcoming from the company since a Failure to Agree was declared by the RMT at
the Company Council Meeting in September 2017.

Station members congratulated over FFtF dispute successes

We congratulate our stations members on mounting a convincing dispute and strike action against the company’s Fit For the Future/Stations re-organisation, and enabling our Reps and Lead Officer to do a great job through negotiations in repairing the damage done to the safety, staffing and general running of tube stations; including putting back 325 jobs.

ISS DLR breach of agreements leads to dispute

We note the breakdown in industrial relations with the company and their breach of agreements across several issues.

This is totally unacceptable to this union and our members at ISS DLR; and we instruct the General Secretary to prepare a ballot matrix of all members and inform the company that a dispute situation now exists between us and the company.

RMT deeply concerned by Overground proposals

We note the report from the Lead Officer on file.

We are deeply concerned about London Overground’s proposals, which could see the elimination of ticket offices across their network. Our experience in the past shows that, despite promises to the contrary, the closure of ticket offices leads to the wholesale destaffing of stations with serious consequences for safety and security.

We are also aware that these proposals are being mapped out against the background of massive central Government cuts to the TFL budget and those cuts could shape the eventual package.
