Opposing cuts in staffing levels and jobs

RMT to launch campaign to 'completely oppose' station admin staff job cuts

REDUNDANCIES, STATION ADMIN STAFF - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/16/3)

The following resolution has been received from our East Ham Branch:-

“This branch is appalled by London Underground's proposals to significantly cut numbers of Stations Admin staff.

These cuts will cause unacceptable stress to our members, with increased workloads, significant changes to their roles and unsafe workloads. Additionally, this will create extra work for our station staff members, who will have to take on some of the responsibilities that currently fall to our admin members.

An open letter to station AG1s: Join the RMT and fight Transformation

This is an open letter from station staff RMT members to our support staff (AG1’s in old money).

We have become increasingly concerned at the proposals you are facing as part of LU’s so-called Transformation. We ourselves have just been dragged through the lunacy of Fit for the Future: Stations, and we always knew that when LU had finished with us, other groups of LU staff would likely come under the cosh.

Transformation update: management lack most basic human compassion

Dear Colleagues

Update on the Status of LU Transformation

Since the details of common principles for all work-streams were agreed, we have been working on the details of 18 separate work streams - examining the possibilities and consequences of individual pools – this has slowed progress significantly as the workload is considerable. Furthermore and more importantly, we have tabled counterproposals and challenged the designs put forward to us as well as arguing points of principle.

Our objectives thus far have been relatively simple:

11th January 2018 Circular No: IR/23/18

Dear Colleagues,

TFL TRANSFORMATION (TFL/15/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/431/17, 28th September 2017), where I advised that TfL was undertaking a ‘root and branch’ review of the business with the intention of hitting a savings target of £5.8bn – made up from £5.2bn Business Savings and £0.6bn Operating Model Savings, discussions with the Company have continued.

Redundancy threat on Balfour Beatty

We note the correspondence on file and the serious threats to our members from redundancy and refer this matter into our Southern Sub Committee for examination and report.

LU Engineering Branch and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.

Danny Davis to Come Back as a Driver

Let nobody be in any doubt - this is a fantastic result for Danny. Having been sacked for an alleged offence that certainly didn’t merit dismissal, Danny was looking at a bleak future for himself and his family. On appeal he was given a position as a CSA2, but after a formal request from the RMT Regional Organiser to the HR Director Danny was moved to a CSA1 position. Then the result of the RMT ballot for strike action came back and suddenly the landscape changed.

RMT alarmed at TfL programme of job and financial cuts

TfL logo and building

TFL Transformation

We note the report from our Lead Officer and are alarmed at the programme of job and financial cuts TfL are soon to be embarking on, which will affect both our hardworking members and the service to the travelling public.

We submit the matter into our Southern Sub-Committee for examination and report.

Relevant Branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.
