Victoria Line strike cancelled but dispute remains on

That we note the report from the Lead Office and commend the negotiations team, Finsbury Park Branch and members for their determination to address the breakdown in industrial relations on Victoria Line trains.

We cancel the planned industrial action scheduled to take place between 20:00 hours on Tuesday 3rd September until 20:00 hours on Wednesday 4th September 2019; and instruct all affected members to work normally.

We instruct the General Secretary to:

  • Advise London Underground that should it renege on its commitments at any stage then it is likely that further action may be called.
  • Place an updated report in front of this NEC upon developments.
  • Arrange a meeting of IR Drivers representatives from the Victoria & Central Lines, Trains Functional Council representatives, the Lead Officer, Senior Assistant General Secretary and members of the NEC in attendance in order to discuss resourcing levels under the 2009 Resourcing Agreement.

We remain in dispute.

All affected members to be advised by email & text.

All LU operational branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.

What is a National Executive Committee decision?

This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

These decisions can often be brief, and may be one of several passed over a period of time. To get a better understanding or find out more information about what the RMT is doing, speak to your rep or attend your branch or Regional Council meeting.
