VICTIMISATION OF DRIVERS PROPOSED

Management’s contempt for drivers on the line has been clearly demonstrated when an email from Steve Peak came to light. A message to other managers on the line demanded that drivers who complain about seats being offered for service be singled out for special treatment whilst a “case be built up against them.” This is to be done by recording all items (even with no delay) on holistic reports. It goes on to refer to T/Ops not happy with the seats as “defective drivers.” This is victimisation, clear and simple. You should not have to suffer a seat design that wasn’t properly agreed with your safety reps. Management are saying put up or shut up and trying to undermine our right to work in a safe environment. Rest assured we are raising this issue at the very highest level of management, and in the meantime contact your local rep if there is any hint of victimisation by management, who are obviously sitting more comfortably than you are!
