Talks fail - Strike is definitely on !

Dear RMT members

Yesterday I reported late in the afternoon that the Talks had failed. At approx 6pm last night I found out via the BBC that TSSA had without discussing it with our General Secretary, or Myself approached LUL for talks today .

As you would expect we attended ACAS. Shockingly TSSA stated they didn't want a joint RMT and TSSA staffside meeting and said they wanted to meet management on their own

Accordingly we saw LUL face to face and reiterated our postion on the key issues of the dispute.

We demanded the immediate upgrading of the CSA2 recruited to be upgraded to CSA1 and the the other 60 recruited

We demanded that they gaurantee the staffing of all stations control rooms

We demanded that the current offer of 150 additional jobs be significantly improved and gauranteed to not be lowered under any circumstances.

LULs response was to repeat their offer of yesterday

This is just not acceptable. The unsafe practices and preasure on staff and passengers brought on by FFFS have to be resisted and will be

The last ditch talks have failed ...

The 24 hour Strike 8th/9th January is ON and overtime ban remains on

Thanks
