Dear Colleagues,
INTRODUCTION OF OWFM APP - LONDON UNDERGROUND
The London Transport Regional Council recently submitted the following resolution:
“That this Regional Council notes that the new OWFM App that is to roll out to all LUL Revenue Staff and TfL Enforcement Staff.
That the App includes significantly enhanced data capture, monitoring of staff by GPS and providing of Data to third party companies - that this App is wholly unreasonable and highly intrusive.
That Unite who represent TfL enforcement staff also have significant concerns.
That despite significant representations, by the RMT, LU plan to steam ahead with this project.
In addition, there are plans to roll this App out, in future, to Service Control and Train Operators on LUL.
This Regional Council asks the NEC to urgently:
· Declare a dispute, both for strike action and action short of strike for all LUL RCIs and RCOs, and to do the usual press work
· To get an urgent full legal opinion on all of TfLs Plans
· To write to and work with Unite in this matter”
This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which took the decision to declare a dispute with the Company regarding this matter. Also, to obtain legal advice and to contact Unite with a view to a joint campaign.
I have carried out the above instructions and would be grateful for Branches to bring this Circular to the attention of all affected members. I will keep you advised of all further developments.
Yours sincerely,
Eddie Dempsey
General Secretary
