DISCIPLINARY/SPAD PROCEDURE, SHUNTERS – TUBE LINES AP JNP (LUL/4/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/175/16, 22^nd June 2016), the Company has been informed of the dispute situation between us regarding unjustified disciplinary action following shunting incidents where a signal was passed at danger. Rather than being dealt with under the SPAD procedure, as is the case across LUL, Tube Lines members are being disciplined and charged with gross misconduct. This Union will not tolerate our Tube Limes members being treated in such a hostile and draconian way and strongly believes there should be equality amongst staff working on the London Underground.

The NEC took the decision to proceed with the ballot for industrial action and ballot papers will be posted out to affected members at Northfields Depot on Thursday 7^th July 2016. The ballot closes on Tuesday 26^th July 2016 and I will keep you informed of all further developments.
