Commitments given in Piccadilly dispute

16th July 2018

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, PICCADILLY LINE - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/299/18, 28th June 2018), the Lead Officer and negotiating team held talks with the Company at ACAS in an effort to avert the strike action due to commence at 21:00 hours on Wednesday 11th July. On Wednesday afternoon an Offer of Agreement was received from the Company and having noted the views of our Reps, the National Executive Committee took the decision to suspend the strike action and all members were instructed to book on for shifts and work as normal.

While the dispute is not yet fully resolved, the Company has given commitments to cover all the issues in this dispute; Driver Numbers; Pressure on Drivers from Service Control Management; Release of Reps for TU Duties and Application of the Attendance and Disciplinary Policies. Further work will now take place towards implementing the agreements reached and I will keep Branches advised of all developments.
