Train drivers' union RMT saves member's job

DOWNGRADING, A. MORGAN, TRAIN OPERATOR, NEASDEN TRAINCREW DEPOT - LONDON UNDERGROUND

Further to my previous Circular (IR/211/19, 23rd May 2019), where I advised that Brother Adrian Morgan had been downgraded to a CSA2, I am pleased to report that following a successful appeal, our member has now been reinstated to his substantive post as a Train Operator. The National Executive Committee has congratulated the Lead Officer, Representatives and Neasden Branch for their hard work in achieving this positive result

MASS MEETING FOR RMT LONDON UNDERGROUND MEMBERS

The National Executive Committee has taken the decision to arrange a mass members meeting for all London Underground members with the Senior Assistant General Secretary, NEC, Lead Officer and Negotiating Team in attendance to provide an update and discuss the 2019 pay review.

"Strong and firm" ballot result on Victoria Line

We note that the ballot results are as follows:

The result for strike action is as follows:-

Number of members balloted: 132

Total votes cast 82 (61%)

Number voting “Yes” 82 (62.1% of members balloted)

Number voting “No” 0

Spoilt Papers 0

The 40% and 50% thresholds were both met.

Proposed new Revenue Control accomodation inadequate

Subject: REVENUE CONTROL ACCOMODATION - LUL

That we note the resolution from our London Transport Regional Council and the announcement from the company that they are to move all Revenue Control Inspectors into inadequate accommodation.

We instruct the General Secretary to arrange a meeting asap of our H&S and IR RCI representatives, Stations Safety Council, Lead Officer, Senior Assistant General Secretary and NEC members in attendance.

Newsletter: RMT secures significant victory on Heathrow Group

Workers on the Heathrow Group have secured a significant victory, after an RMT campaign against lone work achieved an agreement from management.

Key to this achievement was the decision of the local branch to ballot both station staff and Night Tube drivers for industrial action, showing that when workers stand together and prepare to take action, we can win concessions from our bosses.

Defend Mulu: RMT driver facing unfair disciplinary sanction

Jubilee line driver Mulu has been put through an unfair and unnecessary disciplinary process following an incident in work.

The attached newsletter explains precisely what happened, why the disciplinary is wrong and what the RMT is preparing to do to defend our member.
