Conference opened without our Chair, elected at last year’s conference and as a result I was elected to Chair this year's conference in direct contradiction of our ‘own’ standing orders. More about that, later.
Conference was again well attended, but could have been better.
RMT has demanded that London Underground stop its victimisation of Waterloo station staff representative Elaine Holness.
One of RMT's equality reps emailed me a few questions for a course he is doing. I thought it might be worth sharing the questions and my replies with website readers.

This resolution, proposed by Finsbury Park branch, was passed at the January meeting of the Regional Council:
“That this region requests the General Secretary and the Council of Executives of the RMT allocate three additional position for Retired members of the RMT to the Black and Ethnic Minority Members Advisory Committee.”

RMT's national Black and Ethnic Minority Members' conference takes place on 16th/17th March 2009. London Transport Regional Council is hosting the 2009 conference, and invites branches or individual members to attend the conference and come to the planning meeting.
