News, reports and information for RMT members who work for London Underground Ltd
RMT Trains' Functional Council response to London Underground's funding crisis 'engagement' sessions.
We have listened carefully to your presentations over the past month.
You have said that, prior to COVID-19, LUL was on schedule to provide an economically viable service to not only run Tube services but to subsidise other passenger services. This all changed as a direct result of the first lockdown in March 2020.
The government, TfL and London Underground consider EVERYTHING that makes our job bearable and worthwhile as up for grabs. Pensions, job security, pay rises and your framework agreements are all threatened... If we don’t stop them!
Last year we were heroes, now we’re just a cost
on an accountant’s balance sheet. Management are going to try and con us into believing that if we cooperate with attacks on jobs, pay, pensions and conditions they will be in a better position to negotiate with the government for funding.
RMT Upfront is the newsletter for London Underground train drivers, from the RMT. This edition looks at why overtime is, in the long term, of more benefit to the bosses than to us as a grade.
Please download, print and distribute it in your train crew accomodation.

RMT warns of action as Government places contract for driverless trains on London Underground
TUBE UNION RMT warned today of a campaign of action as it emerged that the Government has placed adverts for a consultancy contract to explore the introduction of driverless trains on London Underground.
General Secretary Mick Lynch said;
"The news that the Government is pressing ahead with wasting money on a consultancy project on driverless trains on London Underground when there are massive challenges facing the transport network shows their twisted set of priorities.
Please find attached Jubilee South branch news for 2021.
In this newsletter we take a look at what we have, how we secured it and what we can do to fight for better.
Jubilee South branch is organised, united and ready to respond to any attacks on our jobs, pensions and Ts & Cs that Tube bosses may attempt.

I am writing further to my letter of 20th August where I notified members that the industrial action that had been planned this week has been suspended. The union’s decision was made possible by progress that had been made between your negotiating team and the company during the talks held at ACAS.
Your National Executive Committee has considered a report from your lead officer and their decision is as follows: -
