Waterloo and City Line ballot: Have you voted?

REMOVAL OF DETRAINMENT STAFF, WATERLOO, WATERLOO & CITY LINE - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/10)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/240/19, 13th June 2019), ballot papers were posted to members on Monday 24th June and the closing date for the ballot isTuesday 16th July 2019. If any member has not received their ballot paper, please ask them to contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or the RMT Switchboard on 0207 387 4771 and ask to speak to the Industrial Relations Department.

I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.

New W&C ballot announced as anti-union laws state mandate needs refreshing

Subject: REMOVAL OF DETRAINMENT STAFF, WATERLOO, WATERLOO & CITY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the current live ballot mandate to protect our members and traveling public from the company’s cavalier approach to detrainment is about to expire due to the government anti-trades union laws; and that we need to conduct another ballot to assist our members to continue working safely.

Piccadilly Line Lone Working planned action explained

Further to our NEC decision of 11.6.19; we further add and clarify the following instruction on the General Secretary to ballot all affected Station Staff at the Heathrow Group and Train Operators, Night Tube Train Operators & Operator Instructors on the Piccadilly Line for industrial action in the form of:

  • Strike Action
  • Station Staff to refuse lone working at all times
  • Train Ops to refuse to enter sidings alone / unaccompanied

We note the correspondence from Bakerloo Line Branch and instruct the General Secretary to convene a meeting at Unity House of the SAGS, Lead Officer, RMT Health & Safety Officer.

Health & Safety Reps, and NEC particularly the Health & Safety Sub Committee at the earliest opportunity.  

Bakerloo Branch & Relevant Regional Council to be informed.

 

 

Piccadilly Line lone working ballot announced

Subject: LONE WORKING, NIGHT TUBE STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from our Lead Officer and instruct the General Secretary to advise the company we are now in dispute and to ballot all affected Station Staff at
the Heathrow Group and Train Operators & Operator Instructors on the Piccadilly Line for Action Short of a Strike in the form of:

RMT calls urgent meeting to discuss Night Tube lone working dangers

LONE WORKING, NIGHT TUBE STAFF - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/10)

The following resolution has been received from Piccadilly & District West Branch:-

“This branch notes the recent attack by drunk passengers on a member of night tube at T5 and the failure to attend by BTP. This is typical of termini stations where drunken passengers have to be woken to leave trains but not solely at termini stations.

RMT 'steadfast resolve' secures complete withdrawal of train prep cuts plan

Subject: EXTENDED TRAIN PREPARATION SCHEDULE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That this NEC congratulates the steadfast resolve and industrial strength of our Fleet members, representatives, activists, our LU Fleet Branch which has enabled our Negotiations Team, the Lead Officer & Senior Assistant General Secretary to secure the complete withdrawal of all the company’s proposals to extend train preparation ahead of the 3 day strike set to begin 7am this coming Friday morning.
