RMT CALLS STRIKE ACTION
Dear RMT Member
RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2025 - LONDON UNDERGROUND
Your RMT negotiators have attended a dispute resolution meeting with LUL and set out the most urgent priorities that they wished the company to address:
- The need to make good on outstanding commitments from the 2023 and 2024 pay deals, specifically on the extension of Priv travel facilities and a move from banded salaries to spot salaries in some areas. LUL must also ensure that all previous and future awards are paid to all staff within the collective bargaining area
- Our demand for a no-strings offer on Boxing-Day working for all staff
- LUL's failure to address fatigue and extreme shift working and the cynical attempt by LUL to use this issue to try and impose trains modernisation through a compressed working week. RMT demands real tangible progress on this matter for all grades, across functions. we will not accept intensified, flexible working
Following this meeting, we received correspondence which seeks further discussions with RMT on the matters of fatigue and shift working, but it failed to make any tangible offer of additional time away from work that might help achieve our objectives.
Your union's negotiating team will, of course, continue to engage with LUL to seek a resolution to this dispute.
However, your negotiating team and a mass meeting of members and reps have unanimously called for RMT to take strike action, in order to address the lack of progress made on these matters.
The National Executive Committee considered this matter today and has taken the decision to call on London Underground members to take part in the following industrial action:
- Track Access Controllers, London Underground Control Centre, Power/Control and ERU members not to book on between 0001 and 2359 on Sunday 7th September 2025
- All Fleet (Except Engineering Vehicles Operations and Maintenance (formerly known as transplant) and ERU), Engineering, Stations and Trains members not to book on between 0001 and 2359 on Monday 8th September 2025
- Signallers, Service Control and ERU members not to book on between 0001 and 2359 on Tuesday 9th September 2025
- All Fleet (Except Engineering Vehicles Operations and Maintenance (formerly known as transplant) and ERU), Engineering, Stations and Trains members not to book on between 0001 and 2359 on Wednesday 10th September 2025
- Signallers and Service Control members not to book on between 0001 and 2359 on Thursday 11th September 2025
STAND FIRM TOGETHER! SUPPORT STRIKE ACTION!
Yours sincerely,
Eddie Dempsey
