RMT General Grades Committee decision:

That we note the report from our Regional Organiser. It is clear that London Underground Ltd is using the ‘rainbow’ attendance procedure to crank up its persecution of our members who are unfortunate enough to be unable to attend work through sickness, injury or other adverse circumstances. The company is using arbitrary targets and spurious ‘patterns’ to summon members to meetings, at which it denies them representation, and from which it issues ‘outcome’ letters which threaten disciplinary action.

We note that our Regional Council is compiling reports from all areas of London Underground about the use of this ‘rainbow’ policy, and instruct the General Secretary to add these reports to the file.

We instruct the General Secretary to seek legal advice on the lawfulness of London Underground Ltd’s actions.

We instruct the General Secretary to write to LUL demanding an urgent meeting discuss this appalling policy and seek to have it scrapped.

This matter to be placed back in front of us following any developments.
