TUC meeting: London Demands Better

London Demands Better - TUC Meeting - Monday 13 June 2022, 6.30 - 8.00pm

  • The meeting date is 13th of June, there is also a march (which the graphic and attachment refers to) on 18th June. Details here.

Unions demand an urgent response to the cost-of-living crisis - The cost-of-living crisis is raging. But don't just get angry - get organised!

The TUC and unions have demanded an urgent and lasting response from the Government to the cost-of-living crisis, not a sticking plaster. To win political change unions and communities need to campaign together, robustly, to turn anger into hope, and hope into action. This public meeting will have 'organising to win political change' at its core, including mobilising for the TUC national demonstration on Saturday 18 June, and building support for further campaign actions that will follow.

We will hear from unions, like RMT,  that are engaged in industrial action, or are gearing up for industrial action, in the coming weeks and months.

Speakers will include:

  • Dave Ward, Communication Workers Union, general secretary,
  • Alex Gordon, RMT, president
  • Diane Ebanks, PCS, London and South-East regional secretary, and national equalities officer
  • Tabusam Ahmed, Unite, organiser
  • Mary Adossides, Greater London Association of Trades Councils, president
  • Jess Edwards, NEU, executive member for Inner London
  • Adam Lincoln, UCU, London Regional FE organiser

Venue: TUC Congress House, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS
